I recently discovered a great new aspect of Kayak. It was already my go-to site to investigate ticket prices when I already had my plans in mind, but now Kayak has turned itself in to a toy, a place to browse when I bout of wanderlust flares up.
With the “Where can I go for $___?” feature you can enter your starting airport (NYC for me) and then narrow by price, travel month/season, activities in the destinations, flight duration - really anything you can come up with. Then you can share your results with friends to officially get the “Hey, how about a quick trip to Guyana this fall? No really. It’s only $300…” conversations started.
